Rajesh S. Bagul replied to Sarah's discussion Uplink and Downlink subframes consideration when designing a scheduler
"Hi Sarah, The ratio is the time ratio. for eg, In WiMAX, the total frame size is of lenght equal to 5 ms. With 1:1 ratio, the downlink frame will be of lenght 2.5 ms and uplink of lenght 2.5 ms. Similarly the 5 ms frame will be divided between…"

Rajesh S. Bagul replied to Sarah's discussion Uplink and Downlink subframes consideration when designing a scheduler
"Hi Sarah, The scheduler allocates numbers of slots for the mobile in the Uplink /Downlink frame depending on the mobile's bandwidth requirement ,QoS, Channel Condition. Since we are talking specifically of Uplink, then an uplink slot consists…"

Rajesh S. Bagul replied to OptStatusRange512's discussion Channel characteristics h0 and h1 for STC
"Hi, The general way of estimating the channel in WiMAX is by using a one tap filter to know the channel at the designated subcarrier location called the pilot subcarrier. There are many such pilot subcarriers across the bandwidth. The channel at…"

Rajesh S. Bagul replied to M.Usman's discussion Reciever SNR Threshold Values for MCS
"Hi Osman, The answer to question one is NO. These SNR values are the established values in the AWGN channel. Practical values using PedB and VehicularA channel model are also established. Hence you need not explore this. You can read any basic book…"

Rajesh S. Bagul replied to M.Usman's discussion Reciever SNR Threshold Values for MCS
"Hi Osman, The values are derived from the BPSK/QPSK/QAM BER vs SNR performance in an AWGN channel (IEEE 802.16 assumes tail biting convolution codes). The SNR values are normally quoted for the probability of error equal to 10-6. You can perform a…"

Thank you Rajesh for your help.

So the resarch mainly links with, Php Layer, Application Layer,Mac Layer modelling. If I were to run the simulation test in Opnet what sort of areas do i need to focus on this where i am confused.

Or just the modelling areas

Once again thank you.
